Lorewise? None. Sorceres is P2W class for people who cant play pen and paper games.
Sadly, Gale being a Wizard is a Lot dif from a sorcerer. Wizards usually need to study a Lot to learn How to use spells and everything, while sorcerers are more like... "Something give me Powers".
So... Again, I would say Wyll. ^w^
I do agree on Wizard, but, gayle became lvl 1 with his incident, he still have his knowledge but cant really use it.
With the thing in his chest, he could be a sorcerer just because of this ?
Oh... I didnt think about that. That IS a great ideia, honestly now I fonte know If Gayle or Wyll would be more cool D:
Wyll won't, really... he really is a Warlock through and through.
Casters in general are lagging behind simple fighter classes. I have always been a sorceror, wizard some kind of cater in previous Baldurs Gate games and NWN , Icewindale 1 and 2.
This game is the worst experience I have ever had using casters. They are severely under powered.
I have a easier time just using a simple fighter who can jump almost anywhere and gets multiple attacks, and multiple actions which multiply a lot ...
about 3 actions per turn then 2 attacks per actions... 6 attacks normally... if I use their free attacks like bash or whatever its called that is more free damage and also can stun them or daze them.
ON TOP OF THAT you get more free damage with reactions. Which are much better than casters. You can react by shield bashing people or which slash attacks. Which can prone, daze or stun them.
So as DEPRESSING AS IT IS CASTERS ARE TERRIBLE IN THIS GAME.
To many reasons concentration mechanic sucks. Don't matter your stats or your feats or build. Try to use improved invisibility and attack... its completely and utterly useless. Casters will not pass the concentration checks or the stealth checks. Never mind.. the enemy can do a search for you on their turn.. again forcing another check... but in my 135 hours I have not had a single successful check when I attacked while using improved invisibility. NOT 1. Every stealth check was a failure and most likely every concentration check was a failure. My character is a SORCOEROR WITH 20 CHARISMA AND 17 DEX ... etc.
I see absolutely no need for casters.
I disagree, casters are pretty ok to me.
Yeah sounds like you might not be playing the class correctly here. Also maybe you don't know sorcerers can use crossbows? It helps out especially with the small encounters so you don't have to burn through spells and rest all the time. My character is a gnome sorc she's killing things as much as Laezel.
You cast witches bolt... if it actually lands... and sticks then its still going to cost you another action every turn to use... (even though you literally cast the spell already)...
A smarter way of making this actually useful would be to to make this spell be activated with a quick action OR make it automatically deal damage every turn adjusting the damage output as needed. (decreasing if needed obviously)
