Not romancing Gale in ACT I
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find anything from the magical land of internet.

Can I let Gale show me how to weave magic in ACT I, if I don't want to romance him and I want to romance someone else? There is an option at the end of the magic trick scene that "you don't let it go intimate" but you "get back from the weave" (or smth like that).

If I don't choose the intimacy option, am I safe to romance someone else and Gale won't pursue romance with my MC?

nope, he'll try to blow you if you get him to show you how to use magic. even if you reject his advances during it, he still thinks you have something going on, and wouldn't give up on trying to clap your cheeks until you solidify your relationship with someone else.

Thanks a lot for the quick response! No magic tricks for me then. :goodhero:

You can, just save before. There are dialogue options where you can do it and end on a friendly note. Just need to pick the right ones which I can't remember lmao. Top and bottom were almost always romantic or a rude dismissal though, iirc.

People have poor reading comprehension. The game always gives you the option to reject. Nothing is forced on the player. The companions never try and romance you again though if you reject them. Romance options are entirely connected to the companions quest lines and nothing else.

Do the "intimate" part and just choose "don't think of anything, this is a bad idea". Simple neutral option.

But there are threads were Gale blocked option to romance other companions, after the magic trick scene, even if the players had chosen "non-romantic" dialogues. That's why I guess I can't take the risk as it would most definitely ruin my playtrough. Kinda hoping Shadowheart will take me on a date like she promised... :Heartthrob:

false, I rejected his azz during the magic training and never talked to him again, and when i hooked up with Shadowheart finally at the end of act 2, and when i finally talk to him again, he gave the whole speel as to how sad he was, and thought that me and him had something special. I'm like dude... I didn't talk to you for an entire act after rejecting you.
