after helping them out of their predicament I was told that the reward is somewhere within the society, but they misplaced it, im curious where this reward is because I didnt find much even in the secret room behind a painting, and everything ive taken has been marked as stealing so far

pretty sure quest is bugged. no one can find anything of value. the safe is empty for everyone, everything is marked as steal for everyone. unless we're all missing something, quest is ♥♥♥♥ for pulling that if it's as intended.

There is mind flayer parasite specimen in a table close to him, not sure if that what he meant though

If you're stressing about it because you suspect his special immunity or whatever will somehow be relevant to the ending; it won't.
He has a ring of mindshielding, but it doesn't work for you the same way that it does for him.
