It is pretty handy, gives free advantage it both attacker and target are within 3 feet of the illusion. I have used it to defeat some pretty powerful bosses like the Gnolls, or the Grymforge colossus, without any exploits or tricks.
This illusion does not move and can be attacked, so you have to position it wisely.
Pay attention to the initiative order. Sometimes you can place the illusion and be quite certain that a specific enemy will waste it's action attacking it. Sometimes you get lucky and a bunch of minor enemies will miss ranged attacks on it too.
