2) Use heavy DPS characters like a battle master fighter that's been hasted, or a berserker barbarian 9 / 3 fighter champion with a dual handed weapon, or a sorcerer with a bunch of sorc points to take out the dragon.
3) Once you kill the dragon use Jump to get to the mindflayer mages that will fling magic missile at you.
4) Get some crowd control going and then take your mindflayer character and have them use the special "dominate crown" skill for a turn.
You need to be basically standing right next to the crown to use the stone ability.
I assume you have the netherstone artifact on you, and you probably took the special tadpole off the Emperor but have not used it yet.
Someone needs to transform to use the netherstone artifact, if you don't have an NPC agree to use the artifact.
Afaik that's impossible, the game will force you into either handing the stones to the Emperor, turning yourself/party member into a mindflayer or Orpheus will turn himself. I'm not sure if there's a dialogue path during that whole sequence that can lead to a "game over" but in a couple paths I tried where I refused to give the stones to the Emperor then Raphael appears and forces you to make a deal with him to free Orpheus with no option to refuse. (obvs the previous choices I'd made were keep the Emperor around and not infiltrate the House of Hope)
