You can't convince me that paladins are not super OP. I just blasted through tactician with two paladins in my party and it was a cakewalk. Divine Smite III on crit melts everything. Like I literally killed Ansur in two turns at level 10.
On top of smites you also have Haste, Misty Step, lots of healing, etc. And since it's a Charisma based class, you also get persuasion skills as a bonus.

Aura of vitality is straight retarded. Its like why did I play a cleric again?

Idk I haven't used it once, lol

Pure fighter level 12 nukes everything with ease. Casters are fighter buffsluts.
Fair and accurate.

The tools Larian gave characters in this game made Fighters insanely strong from level 1 to 12.

Level 12 circle of the spores druid can summon 1 lesser elemental, 1 elemental, 1 driad, 1 driad ward, 7 zombies that replicate, 6 ghouls (with thay), can cast haste spores on all <<< that noise while sitting back as an owlbear with 4 attacks and 2 extra lives. Plus a whole list of druid spells etc. Add some of the later items and a necromancer ain't got nuffin on this badboy.

Solo tactical ez mode.

Paladin 6 / Sorcerer 6

The last 5 to 6 levels of paladin are pretty bad, if you multiclass into a sorcerer you get to be an even better paladin somehow.

Don't forget to upcast your elemental with a level 6 slot so you can pick a Myrmidion version.

Lv9 Monk (Open Hand) / Lv3 Fighter (Battle Master)
Lv12 Cleric (Light Domain)
Lv9 Barbarian (Berserker) / Lv3 Fighter (Battle Master)

How would you spec that monk? When do you multiclass him?

Probably Fighter 1 - get the proficiencies
Monk to 6 - get the extra attack at monk 5 and then unlock wholeness of body and manifestation at 6.
Fighter 2 - get the action surge
Monk to 9 - Ki Resonating punch
Fighter 3.

Really its just when you do want to unlock the action surge/superiority dice.
Fighter 1 is pretty much mandatory as you want the heavy armor prof.
Monk to at least 5 after that to get 1 feat (Tavern Brawler) and the extra martial attacks.

After level 6 its all personal choice with important levels being.
Monk 6: Manifestation + Wholeness
Monk 9: Ki Resonating Punch
Fighter 2: Action Surge
Fighter 3: Subclass

Paladin Vengeance 2 / Bard Valor 10 (Dragon Sorcerer also works great)

What's good about Valor Bard? I know what's good about sword bard.
Here's my universal tier list for everyone:

S: Whatever class(es) is/are most fun for you
A: Whatever class(es) is/are mostly fun for you
B: Whatever class(es) is/are kinda fun for you
C: Whatever class(es) is/are kinda meh for you
D: Whatever class(es) kinda suck for you
E: Whatever class(es) make you stop wanting to play the game

:P
My S tier builds:

(Sorcerer)

Draconic Sorcerer 12 (with the right gear strong contender for the best option since you can cover a lot of weaknesses of pureclass sorcerer with gear),

Draconic Sorcerer 11 / Wizard 1 - drop a feat to get most of the advantages of a Wizard's flexibility.

Draconic Sorcerer 10 / Fighter 2 - best nova with action surge, armor + shield proficiencies, though there's heavy armor in the game that doesn't need proficiency and shields you can get from being a half elf (see above). Still the best nova and can go with something other than a half elf then.

Draconic Sorcerer 10 / Warlock 2 - Sorlock, better sustain than a pure Sorc and access to abundance of hard to resist force damage for tough cases, though sustain can again be fixed with items. Still good.

Draconic Sorcerer 8 / Warlock 2 / Fighter 2 - Focusing on Eldritch Blast nova damage, more of a one trick pony compared to the above but still amazing.

Tempest Cleric 2 / Divination or Evocation Wizard 2 / Draconic Sorcerer 8 - when you really want to blast people with lightning.

(Paladin)

Oathbreaker 7/Pact of the Blade Warlock 5 - since in bg3 extra attack from pact of the blade stacks this is basically a 3 attacks per action class that can add CHA to damage 3 times (Pact of the Blade, Aura of Hate, Arcane Synergy item). So basically this is a fighter with Paladin auras and spells, 3 x main stat to damage, but lacking action surge. A worthwhile trade in my book.

Vengeance Paladin 5/Pact of the Blade Warlock 5/Fighter 2 - If you really want that action surge and willing to trade auras and a caster level for it. A better Fighter for anything but a ranged build in my opinion.

(Bard)

DEX Swords Bard 10/Fighter 2 with dual hand crossbows. With current ranged slashing flourish implementation can attack 4 times per action, single target or spreading between 2, as long as it has inspirations. Almost a full caster, can grab Haste from Bard secrets.

Melee CHA Swords Bard 6/Pact of the Blade Warlock 5/WIzard 1 - good gish with 3 attacks per action, ability to flourish to attack 2 enemies at once or increase AC by 4, decent number of spell slots and known spells, good with skills. CHA to damage 2 times (pact of the blade, arcane synergy item),

Warlock 2 / Lore Bard 10 - Support skill monkey that can debuff enemy saves and has a good selection of spells. (mostly S for out of combat utility, since Sorlock is better for blasting)

(Wizard)

White Draconic Sorcerer 1/Cleric 1 (Tempest domain)/Abjuration Wizard 10. Stack Abjuration Ward with Blade Ward (can get passively from Armor of Persistence later), upcast Armor of Agathys, enjoy enemies killing themselves as they hit you for 0 damage.

Necromancer 6/Spore Druid 6 with Necromancy of Thay unique spell. Run around with 15+ summons, watch them nom the enemies. Invite an Oathbreaker to the party. (if you don't like summoner playstyle may be not for you).

(Druid)

(if you don't like summoner playstyle may be not for you, I think summons largely make the class)

Moon Druid 12 - run around with an army of summons, concentrate on a spell and still pack a decent punch in melee with 3 attacks per action and a huge temp hp pool.

Moon Druid 11/Wizard 1 - minus feat plus spells (e.g. Haste yourself before Wildshaping for 6 attacks per round).

(Cleric)

Light Cleric 11/Wizard 1 - probably the most versatile spellcaster in the game and a great support between various summons, concentration spells, heals, blasting spells and whatnot. Not as much of a solo powerhouse like some others but great to have around.

(Ranger?)

Dex dual crossbows Assassin 4/Gloomstalker 5/Battlemaster 3 - low resource usage class, very high burst damage on the first turn (if hasted, 11 attacks per round, 9 if not, all auto crits with advantage if ambushing). Probably not as good as many of the above in all honesty but very low maintenance.

(Fighter)

Battlemaster 12 (Dual crossbow ranged or Polearm Master + Great Weapon Master). It's probably overall a bit weaker than some of the best gish builds above but still very strong and easy to build, has enough feats to pull off some combos others have a harder time with. Could be argued it should not be S but extra points for simplicity, it's really hard to screw it up compared to other builds that need a much more careful planning in terms of itemisation and spell selection to perform at their best.

(Monk)

STR + WIS armored Open Palm Monk 6/Fighter 2/Thief 4 with Tavern Brawler. Quite competitve DPR to Battlemaster (actually way better at mid levels and still comparable with a full build).

I don't get this over Ancients Paladin 2. You become a top tier healer, get 6th level spell slots, and can Smite in melee for an huge amount of additional damage, particularly when combined with (sometimes guaranteed) crits letting you Smite for 10-80 additional damage per hit. Do people just love Action Surge that much?

It feels like you should either go all in on exploiting the bugged Sharpshooter offhands via Thief and Action Surge or roll Paladin + Bard instead of fighter.

1 level wizard allows you to learn every wizard spell in the game as long as you have the spell slots for it. Since spell slots are just generic caster spell slots it gives the full bredth of wizard spells for 1 level of wizard.

Yeah that might be more important in tabletop, but in this you get so many scrolls that you may as well just go Sorceror 12.
1 level in Wizard is ultimate waste of level

1) You can't smite with ranged weapons.
2) Ranged Slashing Flourish can be stacked on 1 target currently, giving you 4 attacks per action so long as you have inspirations.

Paladin 2/Bard 10 will be a melee build with much less attacks and melee Slashing Flourish has to target 2 different targets. It's still not a bad build but it can't attack 13 times on a single turn with Action surge starting from as early as level 8. +1 bonus action from Thief is negligible at this scale, though I guess you can go Bard 6/Thief 4/Fighter 2 too.
