Why is Viconia looked so old?

Why does Larian made such appearance for a legendary young draw?

Have to agree on that one, she's only like 200 but she looks like 500.

Her OG portrait never looked particularly young so I guess that's why she's mature in this one

Viconia is such important for BG2 players....

Baldur's gate wiki states she is at least 600 years old, so pretty old by Drow standards. No idea where they got this info from though.

"Viconia DeVir is over 600 years old, having lived since the late 15th century DR."

Viconia is such important for BG2 players....

Her new design is not Larian's idea. WoTC reworked the looks of a lot of old characters in their new 5e canon.

They technically ruled out the possibility of this ever taking place with Bg3 tho. Funnily enough, the only Bg2 romance for male Bhaalspawn that is now left for headcanon purposes is Aerie, as Jaheira literally says that her "laying with the gods" is just bards talking nonsense, and Vicky got kicked out of the party for trying to dissect Boo

Now tbf, she says that the bard's tales have her slaying gods or laying with them, depending on the bard- she never denies it. Nor do I <3

They really did her dirty in this. Not only does she look older than a Drow of her age should, but her character has done a complete 180. You could change her name and it would be fine but the fact that we're supposed to believe this is the same Viconia?
The other classic characters at least act like they should.

This might bring out my old BG bhaal spawn saga. But if I remember correctly viconia dies at the end of throne of bhaal if you romanced her and had her kid.

Speaking of, that's kinda how I'm playing my character right now as the son of my bhaal spawn and viconia.

There isn't a 180, though, Bg2 Viconia was a fanatical follower of Shar and ruthless and manipulative unless romanced.

I honestly cannot comprehend why she looks "mature". Elves do not age that way, in their 1000s they still look like they're 20-something. WTF
