Human or Elf bard?

I know it doesn't really matter when it comes to stats but I feel elves look a lot better than humans but I want to feel 'normal' and relate to my character more. But I also want to be the best looking smooth talking bard in all the land bedding everyone haha?

humans get shield proficiency that lore and blade bards don't get, so if you're planning on playing those - human is beneficial in terms of getting higher ac.

I tend to use humans nowadays .. as they have a higher carry weight... *must pickup everything* ._.

Carry weight is not an issue since you can send stuff to the chest in your camp.

You may want to use a Shield in which case Human is a good choice but the better option would be Half Elf since you'd get to use a shield and look better plus as a Half Elf Wood Elf you get better speed (which can be a big deal in combat).

Plus Half Elves look better than Humans IMO.

Using a shield means that you get the AC bonus even if you are shooting a crossbow so it's far from negligible especially if you stick to light armour.

By the way, Lore Bard get Arcana, Intimidation and Sleight of Hand at level 3 so should you decide to play a Lore Bard you may want to make sure you don't pick these skills at character creation.

I'd choose a half-elf most of the time. Otherwise a halfling. If you want to seduce, I'd go for half-elf, you'll have ways with both elfs and humans.
