piracy ban?
So... I wanted to "try" the game before buying it, found a torrent and played a couple of hours to see if mylaptop (1050 4GB) could run it at medium or low settings.

Now, I got the game, uninstalled the other one of course, but I still got the save data of my first playthrough. Do I risk anything from that? I played withouts mods or cheats whatsoever.

That's not how it works. There's no law against downloading anything. He's not a formal merchant with a long-term contract he's a random dude buying from what's basically a flea market. It isn't his job to make sure that game cartridge has legitimate licence to be sold. By that logic anyone who bought that Cooking Mama switch game would be in prison. And from what little I've seen usually the ISP contacts you first if your seeding it back. Though take that with a grain of salt since I basically only know from Youtube videos in passing.

But this is the last I comment on this, the OP already got his answer

He is using torrent, he did upload too. and Larian is company in USA, yes Larian can sue him via his internet company.

people prolly reported it, so It wont matter kek. IMO its the devs fault for not adding demos, but also its kinda not smart to say this in the discussions unless you dont care about your steam account lmao.

Since he lighted himself up like a christmas tree for no reason, they might check out what he used his internet connection for in the last half a year. The issue about this stuff is, that once they look into it, he will be held accountable for every single crap, that he downloaded or uploaded illegally. Even if it was done without his knowledge due to some filesharing program/service running in the background.

if you get banned too much too fast, theyll block you for a while from even commenting on discussions profiles or sending pics to friends. All it takes is like two bans for that.

LMAO tell me a single country where you can get jailed for downloading a pirated game.

Active distribution sure, but downloading a game and "seeding" it at the same time? Yeah good luck with that jail time. harsh fines I can believe jail time, yeah no.
Seeding it is distributing it and can get you quite hefty fines, depending on your local laws. I know of cases with 3 or 4 digit fines for seeding pr0n while downloading it.

Yes, fines, it can get you fines. That's a far cry from a jail sentence, unless we go into some technicalities where we count not paying your fines and going to jail instead as "jail time".

I can't imagine how it would. If it were checking a third party server to mark save files without telling anyone the designers could face serious charges for illegal malware. Donno if they'd get charged but I doubt anyone would risk it.

No he means Twitter. Just because somsone picks a stupid name doesnt mean we have to obey it, right Kanye?

Not if he's only using the copy as a test before buying to overcome Steam's ♥♥♥♥ refund policy. If it doesn't run it just waste money and time(meaning mroe money) to get support to refund the game for him, and if it works he buys it anyway

Steam has 2h refund limit. No need to pirate the game, he could've bought it, tried it. Legally. I don't buy the testing it part.

I mean, to be fair, thats barely enough to get past the character creation screen

Incorrect.
Best way to test games that don't have a demo. Like in many country you pay after getting the product and can taste/try out your product without any kind of refund policy that costs more to companies anyway and are a mess to deal with for accountants. There's no kindness to have for companies that don't care about this basic customer service. There's a sociopolitical war about the economic system choice ongoing for a long time now, this is just a part of it.

Anyway, you don't need to be online to play the game. So you should be golden.
