piracy ban?

So... I wanted to "try" the game before buying it, found a torrent and played a couple of hours to see if mylaptop (1050 4GB) could run it at medium or low settings.

Now, I got the game, uninstalled the other one of course, but I still got the save data of my first playthrough. Do I risk anything from that? I played withouts mods or cheats whatsoever.

The game is DRM free and won't punish you for pirating it.

Steam doesn't allow discussion regarding piracy, so expect the thread to be closed and maybe even a ban from the forum.

But to answer your question, no I don't think you need to worry about anything. AFAIK Steam doesn't run a scan on your PC to check if you have pirated files on your drive.

I wouldn't admit piracy on your steam account friend. Your save data can be imported without issue.

Pretty risking since you can just buy it and test it out for 2 hours on here or 30 on GoG to find out the same thing. Also not smart announcing that on a forum where mods can ban you, alter your access to games, etc. They don't usually take kindly to piracy.

Either way, I'd definitely start over and wipe those saves to be safe.

I mean, if you're going to pirate the game, at least don't mention it on the forums. To answer your question, I really have no idea what Larian would or wouldn't do for that situation.

If you get banned though, then that's on you.

If you're worried about your build not being strong enough either:

A. Upgrade

B. Buy the game and refund if it's too much

But that's for other people. It's too late to give that advice to the OP.

because for some less than 2 hours is not enough time to make an informed decision, but you do you
