Othwerwise one game that stuck with me was the Bards tale. Good rpg with a ton of unique mechanics that I miss badly enough I bough the game again just to play it.
Let's just say in the whole of gaming to open it up a bit.
BG3 still great, I'm just thinking of games that stuck the ending where BG3 really seems to have dropped the ball. Knowing there's really no consequences or rewards for all of the games choices really bums me out.
With BG2 it's more the fact that at they at least included epilogues based on the final choices.
Divinity OS 2 is pretty good as well, if you haven't played it yet. Another case of love-it-or-hate-it for most people, but if you've enjoyed BG3 you'll almost certainly enjoy both OS games.
The original two Baldur's Gate games are also worth checking out if you haven't played them. They've certainly aged a bit but the enhanced editions run great on modern systems and resolutions, and once you adjust to its more antiquated elements there's a TON of high-quality stuff between both games. BG2 is lauded as an all-time genre-defining classic, and for good reason. Same goes for Planescape: Torment.
For full transparency, I've honestly really enjoyed BG3 so far. My only issues have been the occasional bug/weird random visual glitch. Haven't had any major issue whatsoever till the patch rollback earlier today, but that's bound to get fixed tomorrow or the next day, so not really a big deal. I can go outside or something in the meantime.....
I left it open ended on purpose, would just like to know what people who are critical of this game - for whatever their reason is - feel is better.
Don't get me wrong, this is a very good game but DOS:2 was better imo. More flexible in combat because it doesn't use DD rule set, and I prefer it when my companions aren't trying to diddle me every five seconds.
