moonrise towers or nightsong first? Act 2 spoilers

I'm at the point where I fully explored the Act 2 map except the moonrise towers and finished the Shar trials and got the spear. I can either go into the shar realm for the relic or to moonrise tower.

From the plot pov it would seem that I should go to the realm first to retrieve the relic since that would supposedly allow me to defeat the otherwise invulnerable general. But I just want to make sure that this is the case since going into the realm has a PoNR warning about not being able to continue unfinished quests in the regions.

oh ok that makes sense, thank you. so I should finish all the side quests like saving the tieflings etc from the towers etc, go get the relic, and then fight the Act 2 boss?

i went nightsong first. saw too many ppl saying its easy to lock yourself out of things in moonrise. got me scared.

Play the game and find out?
Get locked out of something, it's not going to ruin the game for you. It just means you get a different story for that play through. Play the game again and do it differently next time. The game has a ridiculous amount of replay-ability.

You're going to cause yourself a stress stroke or something in Act 3 with option paralysis.

There's zero need to farm experience. The game throws it at you. I've been max level for like 20 hours of Act 3.
