help, save file saved as incompatible version

my most recent save file says its saved as an incompatible version. and the previous auto save was before i finished TWO boss fights and a bunch of other narrative stuff. i dont know how to get it back, i tried verifying the files but no luck.

Apparently they released a new hotfix, which you then saved the game in, they then rolled the hotfix back which makes all saves made in it incompatible. They intend to re release the hotfix later on, hopefully it will fix your problem, but for the time being the save won't work, because it's saved using data that doesn't exist in the game anymore.. so it'll always be incompatible.. verify files etc won't help you.

i think mine happened because of a crash during a cloud sync. would that happen?

It is possible that a crash could corrupt the data. Which would be just as bad. The only thing I can think of is to load an earlier save from before the hotfix.. or crash and play from there, if you have one.

yeesh.. that was yesterday before 2 boss fights.

I just had the same thing happening to me! was playing my second playthrough when suddendly the game crashed during a fight. After I restarted it I couldnt load up any files of the new game. Just the safe from my previous playthrough/character was able to load...

So.....how about this? STOP REACHING IN AND UPDATING STUFF WITHOUT OUR CONSENT (f the "the terms the terms") The reason I am NOT playing an MMORG is so s^$t stops changing all the time. Wanna keep my business? Learn from MMORGS (which I REFUSE to support as do many in my guilds). This is the stuff that say "time to find another game"

Also....when you update a) ask if we want that, or if we want to stay how it is, b) can you fix the broken stuff before breaking more stuff (features) please?
(I am aware I can turn off "auto update" from steam, but really shouldn't need do...it's for PATCHING, not breaking because you did a dumb thing).

Started my first playthrough today (after a couple of rerolls) and now I'm 4 hours deep and can't continue until this hotfix comes back? Wow.

one more thing - get a bigger test bed for your patching, clearly you did not go though a thought process enough to catch this, that usually means you didn't test on enough disparate systems.

Wow that’s really annoying. I have the same thing happening. I’d rather be told not to play (in advance) until it’s fixed than to have to go back and do the past few hours App over again.
