Help with Stealing
Astarion has 8 in Slight of Hand and proficiency. When I try to steal from a container near a level 1 NPC, he instantly alerts on me. No red sight cones anywhere near me, and the lighting is at half a "sun". This has happened in multiple areas and different NPCs. What is the issue? Does stealing make noise? Is half lighting not dark enough? If so, how is the lighting relevant when he's facing 180 degrees away?

some actions make noise. I never had a problem though. I stole stuff right beside them. crouch and stay off the red cone/ line of sight.
