Respec Shadowheart into a bard?

I am currently figuring out what kind of party composition I would like. From what I've been able to gather, Bards can be reliable in many ways forteam buffs/heals/enemy debuffs and such. Im still in fairly early areas but have the starting companions. Wondering if SH could be as useful as a Bard rather than Cleric.
(I am currently a paladin but willing to change if needed)

i have her as cleric 1 and the rest in bard as i wanted to do her story which i think requires her to be a cleric, plus the one level gets her a few heals and a bonus amount to each heal if you choose path of life.

Might aswell just change her sub class. One flavour of Cleric is all about healing.

Afaik you dont need to play her as cleric for the story BUT all the textlines etc. are about beeing a cleric of Shar sooooo... Thats why i dont respec.

Thought about multiclass with bard too since there is a nice sword with +1 performance but it didnt feel right with her lore :D

Ya, im hesitant to change companion classes in general. Hell, im still figuring out how to actually multi-class. Currently level 3...

That one is easy. When you level up, the class is topmost and has a green mark. Click on it and you can pick any other instead.

I just changed her to tempest cleric and changed her stats a bit. She is much more effective in combat now.

i would rather have a Cleric than Bard for support but i'd also rather have both than just one of either. Both classes are very versatile.
i put shadow into war domain because it's not necessary to have her as 100% dedicated support when you also have a bard.

I made her into a Knowledge Cleric. Still get all the cleric goodies, as well as really good domain spells like Hold Person, and you also get big bonuses to skill checks through Expertise and Blessings of Knowledge.

I replaced my leazel into a paladin and my minthara into a warlock so why not. Hell do a whole wrong answers only playthru even xD
