Thor Odinson God of Thunder
Build I have been playing which has been amazing.

I’m only at player level 6 at the moment but here’s where I’m going with it.

Human
Fighter
Defense fighting style
Eldritch knight
Take chromatic orb, thunder wave, witchbolt.

Stats: however you want to distribute as long as you have 17 STR
Level 4: tavern brawler +1 STR (18)
Level 6: ASI STR +2 (20)
Gear, use ring of fling and gloves of uninhibited kushigo
I also have warped band of intellect for his lightning powers

For traditional Thor, pick up skybreaker lite hammer from arcane tower
For current marvel Thor, just grab a any hand axe +1 and pretend it’s storm breaker. For endgame cosplay carry both… just doesn’t come with the fat body style, unfortunately.

Use weapon bond to have trusty mjolnir or storm breaker return to your hand. Melee combat is not going to feel terribly satisfying because mjolnir only deals d4 but if you just like throwing hammers, this thing slaps hard. It’s been like using sharpshooter but with advantage instead of disadvantage. I have like 90% chance to hit every time. And I’m regularly getting about 20ish damage per hit. Get the high ground for maximum affect.

Cheesed Grymm on tactician with this build.
Sent the party to open the lava tube but Thor stood up on the stairs and never descended with the forge.
Once Grymm emerged. Thor started throwing Mjorlnir from above. Using action surge and a potion of speed, I dealt 406/450 damage over 6 strikes to him in the first turn. Karlach finished him off with her doom hammer. He only had one strike that crit

My plan is to multiclass him into tempest cleric for his lightning powers. Giving him level 6 of cleric will give him two charges of destructive wrath and call lightning at level 5 but for now his hammer gets the job done exceptionally well.

What do you all think?

I'd say Witchbolt is a waste, but other than that, looks good! Don't forget to get your opponents Wet!

I’ve never actually used witchbolt because the hammer is so good, but I’m excited to combine shadowhearts water spells with my call lightning, destructive wrath, and the ithilid crit power for massive damage! Gonna take awhile to get there, though, but I’ll have chromatic orb and destructive wrath at player level 8 so that’ll hold me over until then.

I'd go EK 6/Vengeance Paladin 2/Tempest Cleric 2/Storm Sorcerer 2 or EK 4/Vengeance Paladin 5/Tempest Cleric 2/Storm Sorcerer 1 for the full build, Both only get 2 feats which still allows you to take Tavern Brawler and one ASI.

You get:
-Thrown weapon that comes back, with 2 x STR bonus and STR to hit.
-8 spellcaster levels for the purpose of spell slot progression, basically a 2/3 caster
-After casting any spell you can Fly as a bonus action - incredible mobility, especially for taking high ground
-In melee, you can Smite using Thunderous Smite from Paladin and maximize it as Tempest Cleric for a ton of damage. Unfortunately you can't smite with thrown weapons, but you'll get into melee eventually anyway
-Good number of spell slots for smiting

That’s a really good point. Pally smites would really help his melee. So far I’ve just been shoving them back or thunder waving people to keep range. I like the idea of the storm sorcerer mobility… haha man there’s too many choices.

I mean you can get it all eventually, just need to figure out the order.
