m1-m2 chipset can run the latest tomb raider.
just saying it's around a 1080ti(or a 3060 mobile) or close enough, without dedicated gpu... not bad
You're wild that intel Iris APU is not even close lmao, its base clock is 300mhz. Every site comparing it to the 1080 had the 1080 leagues ahead. Not even the 1080 TI just the regular ol GTX 1080. APU's especially in a laptop are not going to be close to even low end video cards. Can't believe you even had me doubt myself and had to google it up.
Im running on Monterey v12.6.2, my Mac is a 2020 M1.
Ya know Im running BG 3 on max settings on crossover (I am on m1 max). Im sure it runs better than on your "windoze" machine. The mac native version will be awesome when it releases.
Anyway, in their last communication about PS5 and Mac versions, I believe they said they're targeting September 6th for the release. At this point, I would just be patient and not bother with the EA version unless you want to know generally how it will run (it will run pretty well on machines with at least 16 GB RAM). You will have to make sure all your EA saves are deleted before starting with the real release.
They do play games fine, on the level of a lower end desktop gaming GPU at least, and since BG3 will be a native M1 port you can expect better performance than e.g. Shadow of the Tomb Raider too which requires a translation layer but is still playable enough.
