SPOILERS : Slacked skinned head (Act2) : Choices?

Hey guys I have found the slacked skinned head in Act 2 and and it wants me to purge its mind in order to get his abilities. It first sounds like a fair deal, because I also end his suffering but I found out in internet that if I dont kill it, it will have a huge influence on story. I want to play as a good guy this first playtrough and I didnt find any resources on what happends if I dont kill it. You dont have to spoil it, but I just want some clarification because in my perception it would be good to kill it because I end suffering and get powers for it. Can you help me a bit out? Thanks !

Did you bring those of the first ship with you?
Because I sold them I guess already, hey maybe I can buy them back, but then again I'm already in act3

Okay age restricted -.-, you can watch modern trench warfare without age restriction but not this, alrighty, priorities I guess

Yeah I know this videos but nowhere is explained or showed what happens IF you SPARE the wokend brain and dont purge/consume it. I found out in internet articles that this will change something, but I have no Idea what ...

Yeaaah, about that, I kept them in the bank and when I looted the new brains in that zone I also sent them straight to the bank, lol, so I had to reload a save from before entering down there :D

I'd like to know what's the " good guy playtrough " in this scenario. I don't know if I should purge her or not, what's the consequences ?
