the only legendary(yellow) item i found is that cleric 1h mace
i'm scared to look and find out it might be the only leggo in the game lol
that would be sad.
Ther are few. I found 2 (that mace and Selune's Spear of Night)
I got it, its not bad...but its not a holy avenger.
The lack of actually interesting holy armors is really disturbing.
But I guess that goes with the theme of the game, you got a character (Karlach) that talks about being in the blood war like it was a really bad holiday rather then a literal war between demons and devils in which mass death and slaughter is a constant...Larian does not get the themes of DND
are these in game? Where are they located?
what about the armor?
Getting holy avenger at level 20? ♥♥♥♥ thats the end of the game...I rather have something fun to use during the journey too.
Here's the info on Holy Avenger for 5e rules:
"Holy Avenger - Weapon (any sword), legendary (requires attunement by a Paladin)
You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. When you hit a fiend or an undead with it, that creature takes an extra 2d10 radiant damage.
While you hold the drawn sword, it creates an aura in a 10-foot radius around you. You and all creatures friendly to you in the aura have advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects. If you have 17 or more levels in the paladin class, the radius of the aura increases to 30 feet."
So any sword-type weapon can be a Holy Avenger when attuned by a Paladin. We could look at it as saying that the holy part comes from the Paladin and not the weapon. A Paladin already has several 'spells' with which to infuse their weapon with holy power; most notably "Sacred Weapon" and "Divine Favour".
However, for a more classical Holy Avenger there are some options. The earliest holy sword you can get is the rare "Sword of Justice" that has a +1 and grants Tyr's Protection.
Ofcourse you're looking for legendary stuff and the closest thing would be "Baldurans Giantslayer" greatsword. Now it's not technically a Holy Avenger but you can pretty much turn it into one by using your Channel Oath "Sacred Weapon" and then casting "Divine Favour" afterwards.
Ofcourse there's also the "Blood of Lathander" mace but that's more of a weapon for a Cleric (although they can also get the "Devotee's Mace" via prayer).
For armor, your best bet would probably be "Blackguard's Plate". Blackguards are fallen Paladins but the armor is the closest thing to holy armor you could get in BG3. It's not legendary though but still offers an AC19, incoming dmg reduced by 1, and proficient on Wis saving throws.
Personally I prefer to use the Adamantine Splint Armor though. It's 'only' AC18 but having crit immunity is awesome. It also reduces incoming dmg by 2. Sending your attackers Reeling is pretty sweet too. Only downside is that it doesn't look overly holy; even if you try to put dyes on it.
So yeah, nothing that's specifically called Holy Avenger or Holy Armor (unless Larian suddenly surprises us with an expansion that contains them but that's unlikely); but you can turn things into holy items via your oath and spells. Most notably the "Aura of Protection" already does what a Holy Avenger would normally do and a Paladin gets that at lvl6. It's an ability that you only need to cast once and is then active permanently. Combine that with "Divine Favor" and "Sacred Weapon" and you have your Holy Avenger plus holy aura.
The blood of Lythander is a mace, it's not even a warhammer. It's a flimsy simple weapon mace, not the weapon of a trained weapon of the church.
The best yo ucan do is the legendary great sword.
Level 12 cap is probably the stupidest part of this game. Yeah, lets kill a Netherbrain and literal avatar's of gods, but level 20? Nope, that's unrealistic guys come on.
