Which act is this? I didn't even know there were tadpoles that run away, i always thought you find them in dead bodies.

Edit: never mind I found that crate and picked it up, i thought i was supposed to use it like a barrel bomb, and was waiting for a good opp. to use it in the city but i guess if its just 1 tadpole then no point.

I dont think you can, if you dont get the tadpole out of the guy attacked by the owlbear in act 1, you can see it crawling away, too, and all you can do to it at that point is kill it.

Enable turn base before attacking the container.

Drop a few explosive containers next to it and blow it up. Worked for me.

I did this and killed it before discovering the knock out feature, wonder if that would work.

you can throw the container off the cliff and the tadpoles appear on the ground because they are quest items with an orange border.

It puts some in your inventory when you smash it from what I recall

Tried;
- Breaking the barrel at the middle of Harpers along with Jaheira, no one even bats an eye
- Knocking it out. Unfortunately you can't pick it up under any means.
- Broke the barrel next to Steelclaw (Cat south east of Moonrise Tower) that hunts Tadpoles, she didn't even care while the tadpole ran past her.
- Even tried to kill and Revivify it lol.
So far nothing worked, just holding the barrel with me in case an opportunity (or a new idea) comes up to mind.

When you go down under Moonrise close to where you rescue the devil there is an empty brine pool. Maybe could try breaking or throwing it in there?

I have gotten up to 4 live specimens and sometimes none at all. Seems rng as to how many live ones you get.

I see everyone try to break the crate but no one just notice that 2 tadpoles is already in ilithid disposal to putch in yor brain since you have the crate in your inventory haha

Everyone's aware of that smart Orc, why talk about something we already get instantly, while the problem is a living and running Tadpole that you can't catch no matter what you do?

i enabled turn based and i threw the container and it broke and what remained was a huge puddle of brine, 2 tadpole jar pick ups, and 1 dead tadpole loose and 1 living tadpole loose, but no matter what i do i cant pick up the living loose tadpole off the ground, all i can do is kill it or watch it leave, so turn based doesnt matter at all

hell i even tried to activate my passive to not kill the tadpole when i attack it and even when the tadpole is sitting there knocked unconscious but still alive, i cant pick it up the only options are to loot it or kill it. lol

When I broke the container, it dropped 2 dead tadpoles, a live one which I was able to catch by right clicking to pick up, but I cant do anything with it in my inventory except drop it.
