*Spoilers* Does anyone know how to wake up Dairow Vin in the sewers for Act 3?
Haven't been able to find an answer online and no matter what I do I can't wake him

He has no use currently (September 2023). Later patches/mods might include some more to his story but so far that's it. Read the note near him.

inb4 we find out Larian added him for this discussion right here. To make people pull their hair out trying to figure out the NPC's purpose.

He is supposed to be what Gamon was in WoW- a weak harmless hostile npc that gets stomped by anyone casually passing by for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles

There are a few things like him that feel like they were supposed to lead to something but never got fully implemented.

Can think of the hidden area in Cazador's Place where you click a button on one tower that opens an area in another tower you go in and find levers that do nothing
OR the parasite jar that combines you find after killing Gortash but not heard anyone has found something it combines to

But then there are things that I found that felt like they had nothing attached but turned out I just never found the things needed like the gemless ring you can find on the corpse which I have read there is a ringless gem you can get off a certain person or the robot arm, arming mechanism and plans that make a crossbow . So never know for sure if it is something or if it was just something that never got fully finished.

I also only found on my third playthrough right near this person there is a chest you find with a note about not getting lucky finding treasure - I thought that was the end of it and left, but on my 3rd game I found there are actually a bunch of chests there and eventually one does have some small amount of treasure in it

i found the exact same ring thats on his person (after you kill or knock him out) in the bottom of the guildhall, in the water, requires a perception check to find. but nothing else talks about this guy

You can also get a tarnished ring from assembling the gemless ring you find on a dead body in rivington, and reuinite it with its stone, currently owned by the Shar lookout in the rivington refugee camp (he advances shadowheart's quest). Combine them both and voila! But you can't get anything from doing so, the vendor just shrugs like "whatcha gonna do, arrest me?", and the whole thing assembled is worth 22g to sell, so vendor trash basically.

Edit: I dimly recall an early EA build where the tarnished ring could be identified/polished into a ring of protection, it was something you found on mol if you did a quest for him or pickpocketed him, but I've never seen it happen again, now you just do the idol quest for the tieflings in act 1 and they give you a ring of protection, the only one in the game that I can find.

Unless I'm mistaken, EA was just Act 1, so you couldn't have found this particular ring.

I just let him sleep. i'd be very cranky indeed if someone woke me from my self-induced nap-time.

Just wanted to add an update in case anyone stumbled across this sleeping beauty recently as I did. I chucked some water on him in the hopes that maybe it was really that simple, but alas, he's still asleep. Best to let sleeping tieflings lie, I guess?

maybe even the thieves killed him, can one be so sure?
The thing is that he is still alive. So the question is why have a character in the sewers kill themselves, but when you examine him he's still alive.

Maybe it's like the one beggar in BG that asks for money to feed her kid but there is no option to give her money. Might be something they were going to add but just forgot.

The beggar you can give money by pickpocketing her but can give her food or money up front

There's a letter next to him. His wife is dead and a Thieves Guild wants him to work for them. Probably he tried ending his pain with the multiple sleep potions. I killed him and used Talk with the Dead. But he has nothing to say.

That ai article is wild. Like I’m actually mad it exists.

I have been obsessed with him. I've tried everything this thread has said and much more. YOU CANNOT WAKE HIM. After hours spent, it's not worth trying anymore. He is either meant to be dead, or there is a trigger in another mission I haven't done to wake him. Best to leave him or kill him
ZerXs7 31 OCT 2023 a las 12:29 a. m.
Well he pretty much just kiled himself by drinking a lot of sleep potions, theres a backpack right next to him with a Note that says that his husband died.
Might be a hidden easter egg somewhere, but can't find anything except for a matching ring

I managed to wake him up and prevent him from becoming hostile. I attacked him with a non-lethal attack and threw him a healing potion (this doesn't work everytime, but sometimes). When he woke up I dominated him with a spell and took my mage far away from his sight. When the domination spell ended Dairow didn't become hostile. He just stands there and it's impossible to interact with him. It is not a properly NPC, is like the refugees in the city who can't be talked to. I don't think it's meant to be woken up.
