WARNING: GALE WILL KILL YOU (Kinda Spoiler, Kinda not)
I actually purposefully made Gale hate me, by refusing to give him any magic items to "eat" . I find magic loot, and I am supposed to feed it to my complete weirdo of a Wizard? Not happening unfortunately. So after a rather heated argument, I dismissed him from my party permanently, but that's only half of the story.

The other reason Gale was so easy to let go of is because he has a secret "Issue" (if he dies and is resurrected) that essentially can kill your whole party and depending on where you last saved could cost you 30-60 minutes worth of game play.

Lets just say this, after a rather hectic battle where Gale was killed and the rest of my party was hanging on by a thread, the battle now over I decided to resurrect poor Gale with a scroll of revivify. He awakens and I thought "Whew Close call.", boy was I wrong.

Gale runs over to my party and everyone literally starts dying because Gale now has a Necrotic Aura, and every one is dropping and turning into gray Husks, I only managed to save myself because my main character had just enough hit points left to allow me to move out of the aura because I quickly switched to turn based mode so Gale could not follow me.

I had to spend the next 6 turns ( the limit of the turn based mode when not in combat) to effectively resurrect all my party, (all with now 1 hit point left) walk them away from Gale, walk Gale away from them, and then heal my main to full health so I could then go talk to Gale and stand in the Death Aura and send Gale back to camp, all while my Main Character lost another 80% of his health in the conversation.

Here's the crazy part, we get to camp, Guess where Gale is standing? That's right! Right where our whole party spawned in next to the fire and bedrolls.. And guess who is still farting death> GALE.... and guess how many of the three people started dying in Camp? Yeah.. suckage.

So I had to quickly run to the bedrolls and Full Rest....When we awoke, Gale's Wet Death Farts were gone, but that's when I knew Wyll was going to be my main caster, with a subclass into Eldritch Knight for my fighter Main.

Gale slowly rolled up his bed roll, tearfully returned all his gear (he was in his underwear by the time I stripped him of his valuables) and walked slowly into the unknown to likely die from being turned into a Mind Flayer, which I will most certainly kill later.

The End.
