controller question during battle (weapon switching)

is it possible to switch out a weapon after an attack, specifically using a gamepad? i know you can with m/kb, but i can't figure out how to do it with a controller.
this is for those moment where my melee units will use the rare ranged attack, but i'd like them to have their melee weapon equipped during enemies turn so that opportunity attacks kick in.

yeah, also cant figure out how to do it outside of combat as well other than removing the weapon and then re-equipping it from the menu.

Yes you can, Make sure you have a ranged weapon and melee weapon slotted in your inventory screen. The when you hold the RB or LB buttons to bring up the spells/attack menu, there are icons with an arrow & sword. Selecting one of those will change your weapon even if you don't follow through with an attack.

oh ok. that might work outside of combat, but the main issue is during combat after you make an attack and want to switch back to melee so that the opportunity reactions can fire

Same problem here. Btw try to Hold for a second your d-pad up & d-pad down buttons, some QoL features hidden there!

Late to the party on this one, but it seems long press/hold left on the d-pad switches weapons during combat

Go to your inventory screen and press Y (xbox controller) and you can swap there.
