Is Volo's Eye Surgery good now?
Back in EA Volo's attempt to cure you used to result in a crippling debuff.

Some online wikis i've seen now seem to imply it's a pure buff, but the sites in question often have wrong/incomplete info so can anyone confirm? Is it now a good thing to let Volo get up in my noggin?

Gets you a perma buff to see invisible peeps

Is it actually a buff now? All it did in EA was blind you in one eye.

You still lose an eye, but you get a special replacement.

No penalties at all? Just pure Buff?

Okay. Time to schedule an appointment with my new optician...

You get a Prosthetic eye, wich actually a Magic Eye that gives you a permanent "See invisibility" buff.

Only donwside is that you are now "suffering" from Heterochromia

During some stage in EA the thing was alos giving a +1 CHA, but now its just the See the Unseen buff.

On my Dragonborn it didn't cause that "issue". both eyes were still the same color.

Fair warning: This buff appears to be bugged. I've had things go invis literally next to my main character and not been able to find them.

(My solution was to spread out the party and then when they acted carpet that area with a grease bottle and light it on fire. NOBODY is invisible to fire.)

The buff is not 100% efficient, once in range the ennemy must pass a stealth check to see if they will be seen or not by the player.
♥♥♥♥ that i'm to pretty to lose an eye!

Good to know. Wish they had written that someplace obvious.
I'm assuming it's written someplace and I just missed it?

I mean i took the cosmetic Eye scar anyway during char creation, and luckily that's the eye that changes for me so it worked out kind of perfect.

This, I tested it on Auntie Ethel and she could still go invisible right in front of me, spell be damned. What's the point of the buff if they can just stealth past you like you aren't looking right at them.

If that's the case I am as blind as you, I picked it up thinking it would be perfect as well but I found out about the check after haha
