It is a fairly easy fight when done correctly, turn undead, a few fireballs and the cleric AOE radiant damage aura spell make sit very easy. Most the mobs are melee so stand that cleric on the edge of the stone platform forcing all the NPC's to run through their damage aura and use the AOE spells to take out the handful of archers and you will get through the 4 turns with the portal still at like 50% health.

AoE spells are your best friend. This fight was easy with my party of Warlock, Wizard, Barbarian and Fighter.

What, exactly, are you having problems with? What's causing you to lose?

It's pretty difficult on tactician, i did it by using evards tentacles to stop the melee and focus firing the crossbow mobs down. Turn undead and as others said spirit guardians are strong too. You don't need to kill everything just keep the portal alive for 4 turns or so.

Kill the archers first if possible, use turn undead and spirit guardians if able, also you can use the special mace from the gith place as it helps a lot here with its auto undead blind.

If you have firewall that'll do most of the work for you, than it's just a matter of a few ranged attacks to take out the stragglers.

Did you try using Spirit Guardian ( radiant ) and Daylight?
Equip the Blood of Lethander on your of your characters so that you can use Sunbeam.
Use Wall of Fire.

Potion of Speed (or Haste) + Fireball, Wall of Fire, Spirit Guardians, Ice Storm (especially Ice Storm) or anything similar makes this fight a joke
