Karlach quest / Confront Lord Gortash bug?

SPOILERS obviously.

Hi. I went to the ceremony with Karlach in my party and the quest didn't progress even though I selected different options and then also had a separate dialogue where Karlach showed her disdain for Gortash and stuff.

Afterwards it's just a generic "go kill Orin" two liner whenever I initiate the dialogue even with Karlach.

Is the quest bugged right now? Or am I missing something?

I think it was meant for us to talk to him with Karlach, but that check didn't happen during the quest log. I'm having the same issue, and now I made him hostile via Wyll's quest... I still have Karlach's quest active, so maybe it will work out in the end?

You're supposed to confront Gortash separately outside of the "coronation" ceremony

Quest is bugged. You can teleport/fast travel from the palace,but if you leave on foot guards atack. Same if you come back to the audience hall. Does not seem to bug if you just walk back to the palace.

Karlach's quest got stuck when I persuaded her not to attack Gortash. I went back and let her try to attack and she got jailed instead and that seemed to progressed things. Now karlach's quest is waiting for us to kill gortash

man, is that the only way to progress things? there has to be a way to progress it without having to go back. ive done so much after that so it'd be such a pain to have to go back six hours.

Thanks for this, thankfully I managed to catch this quickly so didn't lose much progress and this worked. Honestly pretty funny how we tell her to lead the charge but don't follow and just watch as she is dragged off lol.

sadly, the only way i fixed this was to go back and delete hours of progress.

I'm not understanding the bug... you're not supposed to kill him during the coronation unless you want to do it the REALLY hard way.

The whole coronation thing is basically just a **** you to the party, and very personally to Karlach, to show that he's got the backing of the nobility and politicians. Nothing really changes in that scene at all, unless you actively start a fight.

Once Karlach is with you ONLY choose dialogue option 1. The rest will go bad. Don't know if this is necessary because quest log doesn't update though based on the dialogue it sounds like it's progress. The proper way to do this quest if have Karlach in jail and break her out when she confronts him in the coronation (hours back).

Will go do something that will turn Gortash against me and see if it's possible to continue the quest when the peace treaty is broken
