Performance on low end PC?
For those playing this game on a low end PC (lets say at or below the minimum requirements right now) how is your experience? I definitely want to get this game, but my PC(GTX 960 16gb ram) does not meet those requirements.

I don't mind if it is a bit glitchy at times, just if its "playable enough."

Min graphics 30fps cap, maybe slightly dropped resolution, should work
I have exactly min reqs (other than ram which i have 16gb of), and at lower settings and capped to 30 it runs fine.

Awesome, thanks. What is your graphics card?

970 and i5 4690k
Just 16gb of ram instead of 8

Though actually, whats your CPU? iirc the game is more cpu intensive than graphics intensive.

Yeah, mine is a 960 16 gb ram and i7-6700, so even though my graphics card is 10 less, maybe it'll be fine?

I can run Midnight Suns decently on minimun settings, so maybe I'll be fine here

You should be fine. I'd try the game out, and if it runs like dogwater despite those settings, just refund it until you can upgrade a little.

Yes, I'd love to upgrade, just not able to afford it yet.

Probably will try it out in the next week, don't want to miss that free deluxe edition upgrade :)

Update! Got the game today, at first it was absolutely terrible in performance, like 15 fps and constant lag (by selecting the "ultra low" preset. But by following this video, while my textures a blurry, looks and works a ton better than before, actually smooth for once

Be careful when running a gpu that doesn't meet system req. If your gpu is allowed to run at 100% it could burn out. Also, make sure it has a temp fail-safe and/or don't let it run more than at 100%. Same with cpu. I've fried both.

How would I make sure it doesn't do that?

Not true at all, GPU's were made to run at 100% and only your Temps matter. No matter what GPU you have, if you turn off the Frame Cap it will use 100% of the GPU and this is how most people play their games to get the highest FPS Possible. However if your GPU is overclocked, running at 100% can increase temperatures and run the risk of Hardware Failure. If you fried your CPU and GPU it's because you ran it at extreme temperatures.

In conclusion, as long as your temps are between 70C and 82C you will be fine to run your GPU at 100%, although the Frame Times might be a lot higher and you may have moments where the game Freezes making it more unplayable.

No, the GTX 950 is a whole lot slower than the 960 and 1050ti. You would need at Minimum a 1050ti - 970 to run the game above 30 FPS. Having 4GB of Vram is the bare minimum for this game and most newer games. Although your CPU seems to hit the Minimum Recommended Specifications for BG3, it's performance is on par with the i5 4690.

I have an i5 12400f, 16gigs ram, gtx 1650 and an ssd and act 1 ran fine on all medium settings at 768p, but im at the hub area in act 2 and getting horrible performance issues. my fps goes from 60 to 20 and my temps also have shot up in act 2, so i would wait off on getting the game until they release performance patches because if it runs this bad for me a little over min requirements in only act 2 then i imagine the bigger areas later in the game will run like hot garbage
