I'd like to know what exactly is woke about BG3?

I was with Gamergate in 2016. Ian Hamilton found me there and taught me how to accessibility advocate. I have a longstanding hatred of shoehorned political statements in video games. If you're gonna do it, at least make it fit the theme of the game. Disco Elysium is a good example of a game that did that.

I want to know EXACTLY what's "woke" about this game because from everything I've seen, it's just a typical D&D game. It's Low Magic Age with a MUCH bigger budget. So put up. Show me exactly where the SJW touched the Belgian studio.

Because, frankly, I'm sick of people jumping at ghosts.

He done a good job, especially with the voice. That is going to drive us all way up the wall.

That's really great. I've always wanted an opportunity to try something like that and being casually aware of the kind of person he is (I've seen videos here and there,) he sounds like someone who would grab the role and really dig into it.

I love when devs, voice actors, anyone working on a project really digs into it. I love that passion. The further up the AAA ladder you go, the less passion you see... for obvious reasons.

There's woke pandering to the cult to be sure - it's a totalitarian ideology eating the West after all, hopefully it doesn't get much beyond the skin deep as to affect storyline (much) though. On top of my head:

1, The emphasis on non-binary gender identification is an obvious one.
2. Elves being made into humans with pointy ears for the diversity dogma (yet, weirdly not half-elves as far as I know).
3. The hyper-focus on cosmetics I guess is a part of its narcissism (the individuality allowed by collectivists), but blue hair was popular way before wokeness became a thing lol.
4. Removal of alignment is 5e/WotC, yet BG3 implementing Drows not only as a separate race to elves, but including two different subraces of Drow; one good and one evil. You can have your cake and eat it too.
5. The Tiefling refugees treated very harshly by druids who see them as invaders and people in general who see them as evil is certainly a leftist trope, yet also a universal theme.
6. (edit) How could I forget about this one..."Bear s3x" for the furries lol. Certainly challenging traditional taboos, but done in a way that balances shock with hilarity.

There are guaranteed to be many more examples, but I wouldn't worry about it as Larian has been consistent on delivering just good stories in previous games and the pandering doesn't affect gameplay for the most part. There is also the danger of by being (too) resistant to the woke mind virus, you become almost as hysterically triggered as they are by anything not conforming to their world view. “Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.”

Are these people really that upset because they see a gay person? Are they just trolls and it's all a farce for points?
If it is genuine, I ask those people, why does it matter? Our planet is constantly on fire, we're running out of resources, plastic fills the ocean, billionaires have our leaders on a leash, but your end all be all is some character kisses another guy/girl?

Its not the gay. Its modern day and literally know one cares if you bang the same sex. Maybe the bear will get people in a tizzy if they don't understand the property and the context. As far as I can tell the actual woke thing in the game is the Identity being different from the body type. Conservatives have gotten to the point that they see even one thing that is woke and just decide they have had enough. To some point its understandable but in this case less so.

My friends play MTG so I'm well, well aware of how WOTC has been destroying everything they own but that's not Larian's fault as such. It sounds like Larian went "House Rules" and, regardless of who goes House, there will always be weird things there. How have Elves been made into humans for the diversity dogma? The rest sounds like typical story stuff.

A genuine question deserves a genuine answer. I'm bisexual and was raised to not care what consenting adults did to themselves or each other so none of this has ever affected me beyond being annoyed that it's being shoved down my throat worse than the 90s Christian Conservative BS was. I hated it then and I hate it now.

The old guard is literally dying of old age (finally.) The new guard isn't exactly better but they're not "gays in hell" bad. Like I said, I revile both sides. I'm fiscally conservative and the conservatives make me look like a bigot. I'm socially libertarian and the liberals are so heinous now with their indoctrination camps... I mean public schools that I call myself a libertarian.
