I would prefer if Harebrained Schemes would go back to making Shadowrun games, but I'll take something over nothing.
I'm the exact opposite here. I loved Midnight Suns but I didn't really want more X-Men, especially someone like Storm. I felt the same way about all the Avengers inserts though too. I wanted more.. well.. characters that actually featured in the Midnight Sons comics. Like Moon Knight, or Hannibal King, or Elsa Bloodstone.
The big problem with the Shadowrun fps is that it was one of those "IP in name only" games.. it really kinda failed to capture the setting. The rpgs were far too low budget and small scale to represent the actual tabletop system well, but they at least gave a good representation of the world.
It sucks that Microsoft continues to sit on that video game license and have done nothing with it since they licensed it out to Harebrained for the trilogy. Imagine if they'd taken advantage of all the hype CP2077 had leading up to its release, and had someone (say, Obsidian) develop a competing rpg? That could have been huge for them.
And then another DLC that increases max level by another 4, that takes us to other planes of existence and allows us to live out a Power fantasy, become an Arch druid and create our own cult of Bear huggers.
But I am fine if they choose not to as well.
They did once talk about having another DOS title in production but that seems to have been scrapped as it was supposed to be made by another studio and the idea wasn't received that well.
So Maybe DOS3
The Bibel
Still, it seems to be gaining more and more players as time goes by and people realise "oh wait this is actually a really good game?!" lol :D
As someone not with a comics background... oh I definitely agree about wanting more Sons characters to be in the game! There's still a small chance for future DLC as the game gains popularity, so I'm hoping at least Moon Knight shows up in that if it ever happens.
Agreed about Shadowrun too!
