But immersion is not a priority for everyone, they enjoy min-maxing group composition with the companions they like.
Doesn't he say that if you're a wizard also or am i misremembering? Or there's some joke I'm failing to get, very possible.
Which is still a welcome thing for some of us who really don't like a certain class....ie I would never take gale because a) I dislike wizard and b) I usually play a fullcaster myself. This way I can change his class, still have a companion who is useful and I enjoy playing with and still have the chance to experience his story.
He may also look down on sorc too, but I recall that from a fairly recent Lock run.
No they said you can respec them but as part of their story they will still be a Wizard or Warlock or A cleric of shar. Those tags will remain even if you respec them. The story would not make sense otherwise.
This way we have a choice. We don't HAVE to respec them and can keep them the way they are and the narrative is fine. Or we respecc fully and live with the immersive consequences.
And those 2 would be Shadowheart and Wyll, as Warlock and Cleric get their subclass on level 1, the others don't
