What races will be most interesting to play?
So, my understanding of DnD is that theres a LOT of racism involved, and some races are seen as naturally inclined, or outright just are naturally inclined to different levels of morality. For my first character, especially with the freedoms provided by the +1/+2, I wanna play something that will likely not be all that trusted because of that.

My immediate thought was either Githyanki or Tiefling, since Shadowheart's reaction to Lae'zal makes it seem to me that'll be a thing, as well as how tieflings seem treated. But I also havent actually played DnD before, so there could be even better options for "A good guy everyone automatically assumes is bad" in the full game that I'm unaware of.

If you want to play the most distrusted and hated race, play a drow.

Sven even said that in some parts, you'll have to disguise yourself because you might be attacked on sight, because of the extreme levels of racism towards them.

You could try Drow. They're usually a subrace but have been moved to a full race because of how much unique dialogue they get.

Those two and a Drow are your options, with "a good guy everyone automatically assumes is bad" being pretty much at the core of the first stories written about a certain Drow.

Drow as well

Well, Drow and Half-Orc in addition to the ones you mentioned would be the classic "villain races you can play." I'm not even sure that the surface world knows about Seldarine Drow or just starts screaming when they see a dark skinned elf.

The one I am going play my first play run. A Half Drow. One which for myself, fits my Dark Urge custom char. A Half, because got to have the beard option.

Drow sounds interesting, though hopefully the "You may get attacked on sight" part doesnt occur in super important places like the grove. To top that, is DnD one of the worlds where Male drow are seen as inferior to female ones, to just add to that pile?

I'm interested to see how the game reacts to dragonborn but drow is probably the most interesting, like previously mentioned.
Drow, Deurgar, (I'm misspelling the Dwarf subrace) Githyanki, Tiefling, and probably Half-Orc. Those are the ones that most people react to very differently than say, Gnome, Halfling, Human, Elf, Dwarf, (not Deurgar) etc.

Yeah, I think Lolth prefers females so males are seen as more expendable.

I wonder how the game will handle a Githyanki PC,

Sure the other races mentioned tend to be implicitly hated. But seeing a Githyanki walk down the street should be closer to seeing an alien rather than any specific race.

Regular folks wouldn't even know what you're supposed to be. They wouldn't even necessarily know to be hostile towards you.

Definitely a Drow for maximum hate though.

You don't in the Grove in EA.

Sweet, so a male drow who is actually just a wholesome, nice dude is what I'll be going for, Thanks! Sounds like it'll be an interesting playthrough

Well, he would only look wholesome if he has a beard.
