When I wanna rub shoulder with strangers, I've got MMO for that.
At least that's how it was in DOS2. Experiencing the story in co-op is suboptimal anyway because of the way dialogue and combat triggers are set up.
I do not intend on playing co-op with him.
The first bunch is a full of paladins and good all around fun party
The other is full of Chaotic Evil murderer that leach everything for that tiny bit of XP
The first group I tend to not play without them and keep the run fresh as we all make sensible decision
The 2nd group I double down on save as there gonna be massive shenanigans going on and I might solo a bit ahead to prepare for their misdeeds so we don't lock ourselves in a loop of mayhem
