You always start at the same place cause you are always an iteration of the same character who was abducted by mindflayers.
maybe the origin characters might start in different places but I doubt it
All of them was in the same Ship.
Only thing they could believably change is where they end up after it crashes, but I doubt they'll do that.
People already played the full version Nautiloid tutorial is still there.
One section of it was reworked otherwise it is the same.
Your character needs to have the tadpole implanted for the story, so it won't change.
Whether you are using a custom character or an Origin character, you will start on the Nautiloid (the Mind Flayer ship). It is story-specific and explains how you actually got the parasite placed inside you. The opening cinematic is showing you exactly what is going on at the time, and you are one of those people kidnapped by the Mind Flayers. So it makes sense (story wise) that players start on the ship. That, and it is used as a tutorial to get players used to the game mechanics (just like in DOS 2).
One will be, a timer for the Commander and the Mindflayer fight. You have to reach the helm within 15 rounds. No timer in EA. So you can easily get to level 2 1/2 before reaching the helm and also the flaming sword off the Commander by killing him. May still be possible to kill him, but certainly not easy like it is now.
There is going to be around 33% of Act 1 that will change from what it is in EA.
