Icons of skills and actions

I really like interface and UI in general in bg3. BUT the icons of skills and actions just to simplistic and minimalistic.

I mean all the icons contain only straight lines of one colour. As a result it is difficult to recognize what is actually depicted.

For example the're is one spell larian anounced that has searing sword with sparkles that attack a man on it's icon... but everything is yellow colour the sword the sparks and the man and when this spell in the hotbar with size of 100pixels it looks like mess.

In dos 2 every icon was super detailed and only by looking it you immideately knew what this spell does. Even on the first reveal on pax east 2020 bg 3 had colorful 3D icons but they changed it when early acsess started, i really liked version from 2020 more.

Anyway this game would be best rpg of decade maybe ever, just started this discussion because forum is now full of troll and clown looter with woke and bestiality cringe.

That might change in the full version. I agree that some of the icons are too simplistic, or at least they blend too well. I'm certain a lot of modders will work on this if Larian doesn't

I am pretty sure that it won't change on realease because we already seen footages of full game from larian and bloggers and icons is the same.

but as for modders yeah i thing that's easy to do replace some png's so it's probably won't take long for such mods...

i just wonder why larian decided to design it this way... is it some kind of bg1-2 legacy? or they wanted to not replicate dos1-2.

The footage is not from a release build, but it might not have changed. Here's hoping mods happen sooner than later

Larian is sending out review keys next week, hoping for that footage
