What did you think was going to happen? Especially in a hostile situation? "Oh gee, no harm no foul, you rascal, don't try to manipulate my mind with your sorcery again or else! teehee!"
Think about the consequences of your actions.
No it's not. it's DnD 5e PHB description. Which is what BG3 mostly uses.
Just don't use the spell, it's a meme spell.
And we don't know how DM (Larian) implemented it in the full game for different situations.
Kagha is short tempered and neutral character at best. She would attack you for that, she does not like the Player character at all and does not trust you.
Use friends only in cases you are sure you will never see the effected NPC again (which is never in BG3).
Use Guidence and Enhance ability for similar results and no penalties.
Also Google is your friend. Read a bit about DnD 5e. It helps a lot if you want to make good decisions in BG3.
In all fairness it might depend but kahga if you fail literally let's that kid die, she has no remorse either she is cold hearted xD
After the spell ended she disapproved of that. *shrug*
you compelled them to like you, thats mind control by any other name.
much like how you're not gonna wanna perfume sprayed upon you at a shopping mall, you're not gonna want people to cast magic upon you all willy nilly.
2. Might means it's possible. Context is the point of the word "might." Like what was already said, Kagha does not like you, and you are quite literally temporarily brain washing her to get your way. So you are the hostile actor in this scenario, not Kagha. It functions this way because it's similar to how 5e (what the game is based on) functions.
Just how it is. It's not meant to be used as a free ticket. Now you know.
