Is there any way or mod to not translate the Character names?
Hi,
So i want to know if there´s any way for the general conversations to be translated to any languague but without translating names, as they sound pretty bad traslated. Ex.: In spanish Shadowheart is traslated to "Corazón Sombrío". :(

Thanks in advance!!

Damn, that's rough ^^"

I remember watching an episode of Game of Thrones in my mothertongue (German) and had to literally cringe every 5 seconds when they called people/locations by name on screen.

It is quite cringe to be honest hahaha.

I don´t think this should be difficult to change maybe in the game´s languague documents, but i´ll prefer a mod rather than trying to modify them myself just in case haha.

In french it is "Sombrecœur".

Typical second-rate translators… the very first and most basic rule of translation is to never ever translate proper nouns and names.

Wow...I was always told in School that YOU DON'T TRANSLATE NAMES... Why do people who make subtitles continue to do that?

Because that's a much deeper topic than you make it out to be, and plenty of names in literature ARE translated, yet people tend to just skip that part, only focusing on lazier or worse examples.

There are great examples on both sides (f.e. in Witcher you have Dandelion, his name is not only translated, it's translated as different kind of flower than original because English speaker lacks proper association, and that's an excellent alternative). Every opinion regarding adapting artwork is subjective in the end. It's only real names you don't translate (and then again, historic figures ARE often translated when they have given names).

Didn't they learn from Voldemort being called Senor Spooky in spanish?

Now I kinda want a mod that translates every name into a different language, so I can roll with Corazcón Sombrío a Senor Spooky.
