Where is combat speed?
Getting real sick of devs that think just because they spend a boatload on combat animations means I want to sit through them for the 10000x.

Am I just blind or have they actually not got this basic feature. Turn based is so boring without it

I love turn based games, but Larian do love to make unnecessary animation. For example dash. You want to move quicker, not cast a spell. At least they made the animation for it quicker, but it doesn't need a animation and weird sound at all.

Even Solasta has 1.5 speed if you play single player and hit space on keyboard. +1 on speed button functionality.

or you could just have adjustments in a video game? pathfinder has it and it's turn based so throw that "maybe turn based isn't for you" ♥♥♥♥ out
No.
Larian has already announced a really long time ago that it will be turn-based and turn-based only.

He is not asking about real time with pause. He asks about being able to speed up animations. Like solasta, Pathfinder etc have. So if you have 10+ mobs that all have their animations they have to go through, you can hold for example space and it will complete quicker. It makes the game more enjoyable if you have already seen those animation a lot before.

+ speed looks super weird tho and not needed at all. I agree with people here that maybe just maybe turn based isnt your kind of game? is that so strange?
Have you ever played any turn based games or are all of you just drunk on the hype and can't wait to try babies first ever turn based rpg? Even heroes of might and magic 2 had it. God I don't know who are there people here insulting the op. Console players? Fanboys? Or is it their lack of english skills and they don't understand what he's talking about?

Gear tactics had grouped actions for example, so when several creatures of same type did a move for example they moved at the same time. This speeds up the combat and many have copied since.

Having a speed up button is also such a thing and to speed up combat, specially when there are a lot of mobs

WHats makes you think I care about other games. I have idd played other games with + speed tho and never felt it was nesessary. Not to mention dos games didnt have it. You could use a mod for it tho im sure people will "fix" it for you.

They allready implemented that on mobs to move at the same time when its their turn. maybe theyll do + speed later if the demand is high.

Good thing for you that most battles are avoidable.

True, but they didn't have it at EA launch. It came after posts like OP here that pointed out things they could fix.

Who knows maybe they will? But I find the combat to be pretty snappy. I spend far more time actually thinking about my move than the animation. I never felt like I was ever waiting on the game.

That's true. Mobs do start their turn quite quick in this game. Was just a few fights so far I missed having a speed up option.

If I'm gonna be sincere and not dunk on you like everyone is for some reason? I play pathfinder with all that animation speed ♥♥♥♥ cranked up to maximum but this is the only turn-based cRPG I've played where stuff seems to happen too quickly for me.
Maybe it's because of the really zippy camera that's zoomed too far in but I'd feel absolutely lost if it was any quicker, especially with stuff like shoving to consider.
A good amount of care has already been taken in the timing/speed of animations, and the AI makes their decisions quickly. Something like Solasta was way too damn slow even with the speedup function but I haven't felt that at all in BG3. I think that cinematic cutscenes are a stupid waste of time but the animation team did a good job not sniffing their own farts when it comes to combat

The goblin base is prolly 1 of the largest encounters. What i tend to do I thin their numbers with stealth and poison them . THen all of a sudden the numbers become alot less. Alot of the mobs can be dealth with stealth kills as if playing assassins creed or something :p
