Xbox Controller Support?

will this game have xbox controller support for pc version at full release?

because right now in early access it has not or did i missed something in options?

no, it might work through steam emulation but dunno how well

it will have full support on release yes

right now it has back door support, i use a dualsense by going trough steam big picture mode and picking a controller profile manually

Swen literally said it has "controller mode"
also they showed his screen, it had ps5 inputs showing in game, cant do that trough steam emulation, they played split screen, on PC, with 2 controllers

Why would you want to play with a controller when you have a mouse and keyboard that is better in every way?
I am confused!
With a controller, it takes weeks to get around in the inventory and selecting things on the action bar.
With a mouse and keyboard you just point and click or press the number button...
Is there some hidden advantage i am missing?
I understand if you have some type of medical problem, but if you don´t...
If playing with a controller is better for this gamer i would like to know and i will switch right away!

yea i tried playing dos2 with a controller just cause i was curious and it was awful

dunno how people played it on consoles tbh

Keyboard+mouse hurts my hands after several hours. Controllers do not.

(Weird that typing all day doesn't, either, but typing versus keyboard/mouse playing are different disciplines.)

In 9, I learned that the game recognized that I was trying to use a controller and claimed that I couldn't do it except in split-screen during early access. I didn't know early access had split screen. I still haven't located it, but my play time is currently elsewhere until BG3 releases. So, I haven't looked too much into it.

I wish Larian was more clear about the nature of controller support on PC & Mac and when it would arrive. It's a bit disconcerting that we are less than two weeks from launch on PC and Mac and the early access version doesn't indicate controller support. Also, it'd be great to know if the know of the controller support on PC and Mac will be partial or full, like on the console. I play games on a laptop from the couch and won't use a mouse, so more detailed controller information is important to me. I'd like to know these additional details before the launch on Aug. 3, so I can get the extra content if there is full controller support on Mac/PC. If the game won't get full controller support on Mac/PC, I won't be buying it

It is FULL controller support (complete with a custom UI and everything) on release for PC (Aug 3rd).
I don't know about Mac though.
