How bad are the dice rolls?
I hate DnD dice rolls, I don't think they will translate well into an RPG game, but I obviously haven't played it yet to tell. I feel like all the dice rolls are going to encourage save scumming which just seems annoying af.

So can I turn the dice rolls off and play the game like a normal RPG? Or are you forced to use dice rolls for everything, combat, world interaction, dialogue, etc etc and have to save scum when getting bad RNG?

"normal rpg"? lmao

if you savescum thats on you. how about you just accept that not everything will always perfectly go your way? the game is designed around you failing, and if you succeeded at everything, it'd be boring af

Just blow on the dice first, that always partially works sometimes maybe.

You can not play without the dice rolls. And if you are too concerned about the negative parts of the dice rolling, turn on Karmic dice option. It is suppose to reduce consecutive dice roll fails. It helped me enjoy the game more. From my experience that is exactly how it worked.

play a bard. Will lower your chances of bad rolls substantially. But no, you cant get rid of the dice.

Trying to 'turn off' dice rolls on a DnD game is kinda like trying to disable shooting in a FPS, friend. Not possible. At best, you can enable karmic dice. But if dice rolls trigger such a strong dislike, Baldur's Gate 3 might not be the game for you.

If you dislike dice rolls, D&D just isn't for you.
Not that failing dice rolls is a bad thing in this game, it can lead to way more interesting scenarios than succeeding.

Bad news, those "normal" RPGs you like have the dice rolls too. They just happen in the background and you don't even know when you lost them.

Unfortunately OP that is indeed the case that dice rolls have an effect on dialogue and interaction, someone will probably make a mod to make your dice rolls always succeed I imagine though.

Honestly someone will probably release a mod that makes you succeed every dice roll.
That's the nice thing about games like this (with alot of modding), you can install things like that if you want (or don't if you don't).

Not entirely true, some games just have it where in conversations and such you have to have a specific level or amount of a skill or higher to succeed in the conversation.

RNG is even worse in some instances. Rolls twice and if either number is a fail, you fail. You're a FAILURE. Because the game said so. Yeah, take that, you jerk.

Eh some people want specific scenarios not necessarily the interesting ones. I think it'd be nice as an optional toggle if you could always succeed in Dialogue, but leave combat and such the same.

Maybe it's not bro, but the game looks more like Divinity 3 which has me interested, I loved 2. Baldurs Gate 2 came out before I was even born so I know nothing about it.

I don't like the dice rolls cos it's just gonna be annoying RNG, you know for a fact the majority of players will just save scum to get the best outcome in dialogue at least. Sounds like they've already thought of that already and added an option to help, I dunno anything about the karmic dice though.

I'd prefer to just not deal with it though, I can make a hulking mass of a man and fail every str check cos of a dice? Nah, no thanks bro. That sounds more annoying and immersion breaking than fun to me.

Why there are so many people keep asking nonsense question in every game genre?
Can I turn the turn-besed off and play Civilization like a normal RTS?
Can I turn the random loot off and play Diablo like a normal RPG?
Can I turn the money off and play CSGO like a normal FPS?
