Hee hee.

What a stupid game Diablo is.

Nothing but mindless hack & slash, and spam.

I jumped off the wagon at number two, before it rolled off a cliff.

One day I was swimming and the lifeguard and I were talking about the upcoming release of Diablo III. He was looking forward to it. Wanted to play it with me.

I politely got out of that conversation.

"Sure, sometime maybe. Talk to you later, gotta swim lengths."

While I hope/assume you are playing up the refugee aspect, I know there are people (especially on the D4 forums) who fully fit the description of doomers (only see bad things and blow anything that is less than their ideal grossly out of proportion to the point that it seems as though it is game destroying). Frankly, I think doomers are just idiots in 99% of cases. I sincerely doubt the changes in the notes will substantially change my opinion of d4. I enjoyed it for well over 100 hours already and I am still looking forward to rolling up a new character for season 1 to do it all again. Is d4 perfect? No. Are there some elements that are concerning and COULD become game destroying if the slope gets steeper and downward changes accelerate? Yep. Is it likely that I will regret buying the game? Not in the slightest.

Just to give people some context for those who don't play Diablo 4...

Blizzard's Patch Notes:

"Some Players were having fun. This has been fixed."
"Sorcerers, despite our best efforts, were still usable. This has been fixed."
"High level content was being used to powerlevel new characters. This has been fixed."

I never got into isometric hack n slashes, always felt kind of messy/spammy to play to me.

Baldur's Gate 3 is a full game for $60 with zero micro transaction, zero forced online always, zero hundreds of millions of $ per year for the CEO.

You can even play Baldur's Gate 3 on split screen and I highly recommend watching videos about what Baldur's Gate 3 is and the most important things of Baldur's Gate 3.

Baldur's Gate 3 is an insanely long game and no summary will ever do this game justice. You could say that you are not fleeing Diablo 4, you are just coming home to Baldur's Gate 3.

One last thing, Baldur's Gate 3 is also available on GoG. BG3 is all about no distracting copyright protection or other stuff. It's a game you can play without internet connection and just have a blast.

You might be right about the vocal group but the upcoming 1.1.0 patch does have more nerfs than buffs in general and will totally shake up the current meta builds and slow the grind way down.

There's still a 2-week gap between Season 1 and BG3 so I think I'll still hop on and check a few things out before August 3rd.

Lol. That sounds like Blizz. In WoW, they where constantly nerfing and buffing classes.
Then again, that crap happens often in MMO's. Which is one reason I have no plans on ever playing Diablo 4.

I was always going to quit D4 when BG3 got released, this patch just makes the next few weeks feel like years

Diablo was good for a little bit of mindless fun. This is more the type of game that sticks with me.
