Baldur's Gate 3

Baldur's Gate 3

Statistiche:
Disadvantage on Sneak Attacks
Randomly will get disadvantage on sneak attacks. I am stealthed. I am not wearing armor that gives me disadvantage. They can't see me. Still can not ranged sneak attack.

This is a bug, not a feature.

Might still be more things I need to check next time such as darkvision and distance.

Yeah, after all the phrase "hit the dirt!" exists for a reason.

Wait what? How does that make sense? Realistically, taking the rules out of it... just rationally how would a prone target create a disadvantage for someone attacking them 6 feet away??? That's literally just under my body length. I could hit someone lying down even if I was blind folded from that distance.

Then there's the fact of what if I'm on higher ground?

Dunno maybe I'm missing something... if so please elaborate not from a rule sense, I get the rule but from a realistic sense.

It's just a rule construct. Being prone makes you a smaller target for ranged attacks, but an easier target for melee. You're right that the 5-10 ft range should probably still be favorable with a bow, but that's a level of crunchiness that really grinds down the game speed.

First of all, it's not disadvantage it's a -2 to-hit and secondly it's because you're a smaller target. Snipers rarely stand out in the open, after all.

It also grants a +2 to hit for melee, so that sort of makes up for it.

Wait, really? BG3 doesn't do advantage/disadvantage for prone? That's concerning.

Got it. Yeah I saw the whole smaller target thing but yeah at 5-10 feet I'd have to call bs tbh (on the rule). But can understand the game speed thing much more.
