3 goblin leaders - why does whole camp aggro
There's a big focus on stealth and taking them out individually. Killed the first fine, but no matter what the Drow and Hobgoblin somehow make the whole camp aggro.

The only thing I notice is that they are temporarily hostile when attacking, and then when hitting the drums they lose that status. Does that status control the whole camp?

EDIT ANSWER:
This went off track fast, but I figured it out. It's the war drum ending temporary hostility.

I couldn't find a way to manage the hobgoblin fight without alerting other goblins outside, even with the door closed and killing everyone before they could use the drum. I could take out Gut and Minthara without issue (though Minthara aggroed more surrounding goblins it wasn't the whole place)

Took me a few tries to figure this method out. Seems to work well for my party. Love knocking the hobogoblin off there, does like 30 dmg to him.

I just went total goblin slayer on their @$$e$ after i rescued haslin, or what ever his name is.

kid goblins, women goblins, elderly goblins, none of them were spared from the wrath of my blade.

Didnt care if they were aggroed or not. they getting a blade right to the neck.
yeah this annoys me to no end. the whole point of taking them out individually is so you dont have to fight the entire camp. but no matter what you do, you will -always- turn them all hostile.

My understanding is that it kind of warns you about this in the quest text. It basically says that without the goblin leaders, they will just have no one pulling the reigns anymore, so they just become rabid goblins instead of a concerted effort. But arent they all infected? Or are only certain ones infected?

My theory is that he uses his parasite to alert the whole camp.

On the subject, does the goblin merchant flee when the fight starts? I sold him some stuff and could not find him after the fight to pillage my stuff back from his corpse

same thing happened to me for the hobgoblin.

doors shut, nobody went outside (nobody entered the encounter either) yet after he died (even if he died instantly to hole) it would just remove the "temporary hostile" effect from everyone and i had to deal with more of the camp.

I aggrod them all then summoned Lump the Enlightened and the other 2 ogres and they cleaned up most of the fortress
I also used the ogres and they helped me finish them...but all 3 got killed in the process. I was sad.

Guess you don't have to pay them, then

That's silly design though. Unless they see you do it they shouldn't know it's happened unless you leave the area and come back.

Is it possible to fast travel out once you've killed one or more of the bosses inside the goblin camp interior ?

yes, as long as you aren't in combat or are far away from the fight

Yes, I fast traveled back and forth a bunch to finish out quests when I had killed 2 out of 3 of them
