How’s the new nvidia driver been for you ?

I want to install it because I haven’t updated my drivers in months but my pc is so stable right now im afraid to do it

Not saying it's the driver fault. Could just be a new area in the game I'm in but the previous driver was fine anyways.

1660Ti, 5-7 degrees hotter in the same area, and caught first ever crash in Vulcan mode. Also should rever back...

I did tests with both drivers on my rig in a specific area of the game that works my card hard.
The gpu temp was 4-5 degrees Celsius cooler with the previous driver.

That's a good enough reason for me not to use the latest driver as my card has just a single fan and cooling is a priority.
I saw no graphical difference or any increase of fps using the latest driver anyway.
Vulkan has always been the better option for me and I have had not a single crash in over 80 hours with the old driver.

I'm just the voice in the audience that cheers one of the fighters on and I say, go Mr D Grim, I'm on your side, never update drivers unless you have to. Playing on 531.41 myself, it's running fine and no amount of popups from the developer telling me to update is gonna change that. I disabled the pop-up anyway because I could imagine it's gonna bother you anytime a new driver releases whether it's relevant or not but I dunno.

Also i will say this. #1 rules of drivers. if it ain't broke don't fix it. im still running Nvidia's 531.79 and they work perfect for this game and others. and ill keep these till i encounter a game with issues.
the most important thing for drivers is stability. and latest drivers might not always be the most stable. I learned that first hand from the experts on nvidia's support forums when i had GPU issues. and older drivers they recommended were running much more stable then the newer ones.

Same here 531.79 drivers since the game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about older drivers everytime the launcher pops up on my EVGA RTX 3080 ftw ultra and no issues here runs great on 1440p 60 fps locked in. I do always change every game to VSYNC Off in game then in Geforce Control Panel I turn on Fast VSYNC instead of letting the setting in games dictate and it seems to play nice with pretty much all the games I run. Even some at 120fps when the Ultra HD cable lets me select that for my TV's refresh in the resolution settings... Stupid cable pisses me off sometimes

you use Windows while there is plenty of other OS.

That is true. but windows is the most compatible to the programs i have to use in my daily life. and to gaming in general. if there was another OS that could do that without issues or loopholes i have to go through all the time. i would've switched ages ago.

Windows 10 here :P it's tbh a pretty well known thing. and even if you turn it off it turns itself on again during big windows updates. XD good to know that w11 might not be doing that bs tho.

that's like 5 years back thinking you can run games perfect fine in linux
only tiny problem is you need to install the software on windows then switch to linux
