Andromeda is one of those "wonderful" examples of why you don't shoehorn in certain subjects if you arent going to do it right in the first place. Not to mention its just a pretty ♥♥♥♥ game in general.

BG3 outside of npc relationships is nowhere nearly as insufferable.

On aspects of wokeness thus far (end of act 1), it's abit less than Pillars of Eternity 2, and both are quite a few leagues away from The Outer Worlds.


Infact, this is closer to Baldurs Gate 2, than it is The Outer Worlds in wokeness, and BG2 was already woke when it released (by that times standards).

Edit: Point is, this should be acceptable levels of woke, and you'll have a difficult time getting less than this. Elden Ring as well have a lot of the woke-points that this game has, much for the same reason(s).

Woke-aspects in this game (essentially): No gender selection (renamed as 'body type' and 'voice'), default to black person for humans, Certain romances are hidden behind what seems like friendship (Gale), and having no reasonable way to create a friendship without flat-out being a prick, lack of an really feminine character.

For the last part however; Only have 3 women personally, Lae'Zel, Karlach and Shadowheart, and Shadowheart is feminine (strong-woman, i.e; Leliana\Imoen), with the other 2 not being so. Karlach feels of, while Lae'Zel making sense due to her race.

The game isnt woke though. It would be woke (using the term in the way that people on the right usually mean it) if it was pushing an agenda like that all men are bad or white people are evil or whatever other insane far left stuff we occasionally hear from a minority of unhinged liberals.

The game is actually (politically) libertarian. Its "let people be who they want and do what they want with whom they want".
