Just stood there, arms folded, completely unphased by this dude casually murdering someone, despite having obvious moral qualms with such a thing.
If he just busted through the rubble swinging and pushed her in the lava, then okay.. sure.. but no.. he was perfectly calm, collected.. and just dunks this gnome in the lava while we stand there doing absolutely nothing. Not even slightly looking outraged or apalled.
Ugh.. There are a lot of things that need improvement and perhaps this is a minor "issue".. but it's definitely one i would add to the bucket list of "things to improve/change".
Way to do:
1. You need to kill nero without cleaning the rubble.
2. Position near mythril nww of forge portal, carefuly build tall staircase of boxes (long ones rather good tetris.mp3, flea-like jumping character advised) until you can mystystep to piece of temple bridge.
3. Nero, this arrow of humanoid slaying have your name on it.
4. Gnome in question is alive, complaining anout you looting other gnome corpse, nonchatty, considered dead by magma by her brother.
there is no dialogue with Nero for "how the hell did you get here"
This is the least realistic 'it is what it is' situation though. Characters have EVERY opportunity to prevent it :
Nere has just spent hours in a chamber full of poision and slowing dying.
Nere's allies can be fought beforehand to make it a 1v4 fight.
Nere can be ambushed before he even leaves his chamber and 'surprised' as a result.
The player has time to intervene when he's scolding Meerna in the cutscene.
Heck, her BROTHER should intervene too if he's still alive.
It requires a stupid suspension of disbelief to think this is just an unwinnable scenario and not a plot hole.
You can kill him before he even sees lava and still the game says he killed her.
Although I do find it strange that it's not possible to save her. You can save a random that usually turned into spider food in the goblin camp. I dare anyone to try to save this dude without aggroing the whole camp, because the goblins around Dror Ragzlin can see through walls and have eyes on the back of their heads.
Cute slave girl getting burned alive in lava is way higher priority hero business. Lol
That's probably the best outcome we can get here.
In case someones interested, here are some screenshots of this: https://imgur.com/a/x8FqTlJ
Can confirm. I stacked crap and misty-stepped to the back door, Nere +2 are all non-verbal prior to the passage being cleared. Murdering Nere here and then clearing the blockage amounts to a hill of beans, but Meerna does live. She's mute though, and her brother apparently can't handle this.
I even improvised weapon dragged Meerna over and plopped her in front of Welso, and he just keeps crying about how his dead sister is dead, despite staring directly into her definitely alive face less than 2 feet away. Meerna of course remains silent, as even she cannot believe she is alive.

This was one of the worst moments in the entire game for me.
A person who is my enemy just killed somebody i was trying to save and my character just calmly stands there, arms folded, smiling pleasantly.
It is stupid. Nothing took me out of the game as much as that did.
That scene NEEDS to be re-done.
You could interrupt the scene before as well.
