When you encounter Dammon and fix the infernal engine the first time around back in the grove Dammon tells you to catch up with him in Baldur's Gate if you find any more infernal metal. So I naturally expected that to be the case.
I had no idea he was even present at the Last Light Inn as I went straight to the Inn itself and then all hell broke loose. Now I'm about 20-25 hours later in the game and suddenly Karlach tells me the spark is gone and she basically dumps my character... I was one big question mark! I thought it was a bug, desperately starting to reload previous savegames to see where things went wrong.
Now, it might not seem like a big thing. It's just a romance option after all. But honestly I was looking forward to seeing that thing play out with getting the machine fixed or whatever was gonna happen. And I do feel robbed of that.
The game should have done a better job at keeping those options open and not hide it away under a roof in a mundane-looking building next to the inn that isn't even on the path to the inn from where you enter the area.
