TLDR, the wiki is your friend.
Yeah, that's actually a problem.
I think the game could benefit from more explanation that show up when you mouse over a spell description. Additional afflictions are never really explained until you try the items/spells or use a wiki which is an oversight.
Which I'm happy they didn't or Monks would still be unplayable.
If they stuck to 5e it'd still be a problem because even DnD players wouldn't always know what every effects does. The advanced description is needed in any case.
No, sadly that's not true.
If an item involves a status condition, that status condition is not explained and can't be clarified by pressing any button or expanding the description.
That page on the wiki has been the most helpful to me so far.
