Blood of Lathander quest is broken

You cannot turn the Statue that needs to face West. I have reloaded the athletics check literally over two dozen times, everybody fails it every single time. I have tried hitting the tower, I have tried shooting it, I have tried damaging it, I have tried casting magic at it, and I have tried like the game suggested, to grease it up. I've tried throwing a grease bottle at it a dozen times, and that does literally nothing.

I can't think of anything else other than the Statue is completely bugged, therefore, making the quest incompleteable.

I've tried passing the Athletics check, using grease, and hitting it for 10+ damage to rotate it. It doesn't matter what method I use. The path won't open. I did it in my first playthrough but it seems that this save is bugged somehow.

So...the thing is you need 20+ damage to rotate it if i recall well becaues you need to make 10 effective damage on it. Whereas the statue has 10 DR, so you will need to hit it with 20 at least. then it will turn.

There is a acrobat check quite high. The grease works you have to throw it though.

Personally I think there should have been a dialog where you can apply the grease without it covering everything. Grease is actually like a grenade throwable.

I still had to hit it after grease:(

Also it is very misleading the info you get from the book because it says oil. And you can find cups of oil:P And even barrels:D But only grease works:D

Not impossible at all. I used Laezel and succeeded the check. Just gotta use the appropriate items to pass the check.

I also have this issues right now as im standing in front of the door with the stautes correctly turned and no path revealing itself.

Oil/Grease. Turn it. Even when you attempt to do it, it says its stuck fast. Use your brain, what do you normally use when a mechanical thing is stuck? WD40, or in BG3 case, oil or grease. Works like a charm every time.

Whack it with a bludgeoning weapon, cast enlarge, use guidance.. it's a check that you failed, it isn't bugged.

I think the issue is this mechanic is used like twice in the game? Lol and no one in the party is like "let's try" even as a check of wisdom or something.
So logically speaking yes but even I didn't consider it, I just Uber buffed shadowheart to open it, bless, guidance and the like she was the last person of all the people in camp cuz everyone else failed it lol

Weirdly enough the time I tried grease it did nothing. I must have done it wrong somehow lol Maybe I didn't quite hit the statue when I threw it

For anyone still struggeling with this (like I did):

1. Choose character with high strength or take potion of hill giant
2. Throw cup with grease (you find it in the room where the inquisitor was) or bottle of grease onto statue (Öl auf Deutsch!)
3. Hit statue, NOT use it
4. Turn statue away from the room where the inquisitor was

The other statue has to face the room where the inquisitor was.
The secret passage should open in the wall that is between the two statues.
