No, it works differently in battle with your opponents.
Your best bet is to either come very close OR know almost where they are and cast an aoe. Taking damage reveals hidden enemies.
unless you had see invisibility or true sight or something similar.
another option would be to just attack wildly in a random square with disadvantage and hope it hits.
that's the whole point of invisibility...
The most I've seen is 3 searches, idk if they can do more or not, but yeah it was pretty silly to watch, (though kinda funny as me and my friend were like, 'what the ♥♥♥♥ is this') but yeah...
True, but what about enemy creatures? Do they just roll for perception 3 times per turn till they find you or do they also have to get lucky in tabletop.
