"i am unable to afford the game, so i will create a bait thread"
Yet your willing to waste time waiting to see what responses people give this post. If this isn't a troll that's about standard for the average impatient gamer these days.
However, I do prefer how Disco Elysium did skill checks. You're met with the success chance when you hover over the option, then a really short effect after you click, and then the dialogue continues with your successful or failed outcome. No clicking continue after a failed roll.
I feel like having the player press continue after a failed roll will result in more people save scumming than otherwise. Force the failed roll dialogue, and let the player experience what the failed roll dialogue entails. Disco Elysium got this right where others have misstepped
Again, nobody is saying that. You can skip the dice roll animation with a click. The argument is to give players an options to always skip that animation (not the whole screen and the bonuses, obviously) instead of having to manually skip it with a click every time. That's all. It's a minor thing, but I kind of get it.
to repeat what i said as well: there is a skip already in place, which is clicking one more time, that is the quality of life feature that skips the roll that the TC would want.
beyond that you would then be asking for a skip for the skip, which quite frankly is very silly when there is a feature already provided that skips the rolling.
edit: but if you are that impatient then i guess there is no hope for you anyway.
I think I made a very similar post. 2 years ago. Its still here.
I would rather it not be visible. But the game is still fun.
One thing I like about what they did is that during dialogue and other checks the game makes it easy for you to use buff spells like eagles splendor and guidance to further boost your roll.
Also every thief kit and trap kit is basically a re-roll for your trickery checks.
I hope they do do kinda get rid of it like you ask still.
Perception checks are done like that though. They are done in the background and you just here a click of success or failure. (I like that). .... (I still think it would be nice to just do that for all the checks in the game.
If they did that they could implement something even faster like rerolling with a simple click of the mouse without seeing the dice.
Again I would rather it be like BG1and2 and Pathfinder where you don't see it at all.
But the game is still FUN. Just an FYI.
It will skip the rolling part of the animation, but it takes interminable ages for the top number to be compared to the die roll and to draw the sparkly success or failure part of the animation. It's not a show-stopper for me, but I agree it's a waste of time after hundreds of rolls.
